The Inter Club Challenge, hosted by Blacktown Kennel & Dog Training Club on Saturday 23rd July, was a huge success and the three Border Collie Club teams The Avengers, The Night Riders and The Phantoms had great reason to celebrate.

Thirty five clubs competed, with the competition very strong, the atmosphere among all clubs was friendly and supportive.

The Border Collie Cub of NSW Inc won the highest scoring Breed Club Trophy. The Avengers team was in a nail biting runoff with Castle Hill Dog Training Club for 1st place.  Unfortunately, we narrowly missed out with Castle Hills Dog Training Club coming in 1st.

Out of 35 teams, both Obedience Clubs and Breed Clubs, The Avengers came 2nd, The Night Riders 4th and The Phantoms 17th.  Wow, what a day!

Many thanks to  Julie Huber, Gail Treister, Meegan Dorchamp, Dawn Taylor, Dot Luker, Tracey Lyndsay, Cheryl Soane, Barbara Horton, Sandra ? and Antoinette Rebstein for your support and excellent handling of your dogs on the day.

Many thanks must go to Tracey Lyndsay for organising the lunch menu, an excellent banquet in which we all participated. We won’t mention the three bottles of wine that Blacktown Dog Training Club presented to us.  Also a big ‘thank you’ must go to Lesley Simpson and Anne Pellew for stewarding for us on the day.  It was also greatly appreciated, the support provided by Lauren Somers, Melissa Dean and Colleen Finch for being there and cheering us on to victory.

One of our team members, Kellie Neville was unable to be there to participate with us, due to a term in hospital, all team members are behind you Kellie, and wish you a speedy recovery.

Next year our goal will be to win the highest scoring breed club again, and who knows, we may even win the actual Inter Club Challenge.
