DNA Testing

There are currently DNA testing available for the testing of three hereditary diseases in Border Collies. These tests are for CEA (Collie Eye Anomaly), CL (Ceroid Lipfuscinosis ) and TNS (Trapped Neutrophil Syndrome).

Testing for TNS had been conducted by the University of NSW, under the leadership of Prof Alan Wilton, but due to his recent death, currently the university is reorganising his lab. The University has indicated that TNS testing is currently suspended, hopefully for only a short period of time, but the club will keep Border Collies notified of the situation.
